21 Duel
A New Way Of Playing Blackjack
Now here is a totally unique Blackjack variant you will never have seen before, called 21 Duel it is the brain child of an online casino software provider called Playtech. This game can only be found in online casinos powered by them, but players should be aware that they do not allow US players to play at any of their sites.
You now have to simply make your hand using your up facing card and just one of the Community cards. Once you have made your hand you have three different options available to you.
You can play your hand using the first Community Card and doubling you initial wager, or you may play the hand with the second Community Card, once again you will be doubling your initial wager. Or your third option is to fold your hand and by doing so you will lose your initial wager.
Now keep reading as this is where it may get a little complicated! If you have chosen to play then you may continue as you are with your original hand or should you prefer you may hit your hand to make a 3 card hand, but by doing so you will be using your face down card.
Should the Dealers hand be less that 13 then the Dealer will not qualify to play and you will win your initial bet, but not your raise bet. Should the Dealer qualify and beat the Player then all your wagers are lost.
In the case of both the Player and Dealer having a tied hand then all bets are returned. The Dealer will observe a preset set of rules when making his hand which they call the house way.
Hitting a Hand
Hitting a hand in Blackjack simply means that you are indicating to the dealer that you wish to receive another card to add to the two cards you have already been dealt.
By hitting unlike Doubling Down you are getting dealt this additional card free of charge and you can hit an initial hand as many time as you want.
But some players will make lots of mistakes when playing Blackjack and hitting their hand when the correct strategy dictates otherwise is the most common error they will make and by doing so they will end up at the wrong side of the house edge.
If you have a soft hand in a single deck game, a soft hand is a simply a hand that has an Ace in it, and that hand totals 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17 then you should always hit that hand also, irrespective of what the dealer is holding.
If you have split a pair of Aces then in the majority of Blackjack games you are not permitted to hit this hand after thy have been split, and just one new card will be dealt to them and then they will automatically stand.
Never be intimidated into making an incorrect move when playing any form of Blackjack, if the strategy dictates that you should hit your hand then hit it, let other players make the wrong moves.
